CB radio

Belongs to:
Mobile communications and radio applications
Description:

CB radio is a personal radio service using the frequency range of approx. 27 MHz and can be used without any restriction. In Germany, the frequency range is between 26.565 MHz - 27.405 MHz (80 channels), in Europe between 26.965 MHz - 27.405 MHz (40 channels). The hardware consists of a radio device and an antenna which can be mounted on the mobile device itself.

Frequency ranges:
  • 26.56–27.41 MHz
Type of field:
electromagnetic

Measurements (acc. to literature)

antenna system
Measurand Value Feature Remarks
electric field strength 18–60 V/m (maximum) - at a distance of 60 cm [1]
electric field strength 230–1,400 V/m (maximum) - at a distance of 5 cm [1]
electric field strength 1 kV/m (maximum) - public exposure close to antenna [2]
magnetic field strength 0.04 A/m (maximum) - less than given instrument sensitivity [1]
magnetic field strength 0.1–1.3 A/m (maximum) - at a distance of 5 cm [1]
